When it comes to nutrition, what are the things you’re doing best? Here are some categories:
Pick 3
What do you think you need the most work on? Pick just one. Same list.
Ok, if we leave things with greater clarity, that’s solid progress. Maybe call it a day.
Want more stuff to play with?
It’s your world, I’m just living in it. Pick one thing you’d like to work on. I prefer addition over subtraction. And satisfaction over restriction. So, if there’s something you’re not loving, crowd it out with an alternative that will be satisfying when you eat it and help you build toward your longer-term vision of health. Don’t automatically assume that there aren’t more enjoyable AND congruent choices out there.
Now, let’s translate those aspirations to actions. What does that action look like? Where does it live in your day? In your spaces? In your times?
Par exemple
“I will put a bag of chia seeds next to my box of Froot Loops. That way when I pour my cereal in the morning (on my kitchen counter), it will be easy for me to add chia seeds. I may need a quick floss before work and I am at peace with that.”
Does that feel more real than, “Add fibre.” Durn’ fuckin’ tootin.
Now... Arrange things based on impact (see below), from low to high. See what shakes loose.
Next, think pragmatically. What fits into your life? What can you easily see doing? Rank things from left to right here.

The first quadrant
Have you got at least one behaviour in the top-right corner of the box? Great! You’ve got what BJ Fogg calls a Golden Behaviour! You’ll get a ton of action out of this one.
What about the other quadrants?
Is it in the lower-right? See if you’ve got something more impactful up your sleeve. You might, for example, swap out the Froot Loops for an imperfect granola. Prize convenience over perfection.
Is it in the upper-left? See if you can make things even easier.
Is it in the lower-left? Between you and me, I wouldn’t bother. Life is too short to spin your wheels on something you don’t enjoy.
